General Information
The Industrial Revolution started somewhere in between the 18th and 19th century. There were many dramatic changes in normal everyday life and other things such as manufacturing, agriculture, transport, technology and mining. So life changed dramatically in just a couple of years. Before the Industrial Revolution started life for most of the people in that period of time was a farming life and rural lifestyle. Communication between people that lived in other places were limited and so was the travel. Life was hard for ordinary people. Having to work hard to get paid and to be able to buy food to put on the family dinner table at night and education for young ordinary kids was very slim. Manufacturing was mostly done by hands and windmills.
Once the Industrial revolution started this all changed. Most of the hard manufacturing that used to be done by hand was replaced with machines. This started with the textile industry and grew from there. Factories were then being built and steam powered machinery as well. Then heaps of coal then had to be burnt to help run the factories/steam powered machinery. The amount of people that were buying these products meant that long distance transport started. Railways were built, and roads and canals were also built. Once this started to happen many people that lived on the farms were able to move to the cities mainly to get more work. So this is how the industrial revolution started.
But the bad thing was if you were poor before the industrial revolution began it just got worst for you and your family. If you were rich and had money life during the Industrial revolution was very pleasant.
